After high school, Lars joined the military in which he completed his basic military service for nine months with Kongelige Livgarde (Royal Guards), an infantry regiment of the Danish army. He was not convinced that the military was right for him, so he decided to look for something different and eventually chose to study biology. In the midst of this half-year course, Anette came home from one of her classes and showed her how she was able to perform juggling after just three days. Lars was pleased about it and wanted to attempt it as well. Therefore, he quit college and went to the juggler school. He was taught fire breathing and juggling at this school. Then he traveled along with two of his fellow students throughout Europe as a tour artist performing in cities like Paris, Munich and Moscow. He came across a circus for children the following year, and he learned both street theatre and children's theater as and pantomime.
